Mt. Kosciuszko

May 17, 2011

This is a view of Mt. Kosciuszko, the highest mountain in Australia.

The top is 2228 m high, and it is probably not the prettiest mountain top I’ve seen. But the landscape is absolutely beautiful. It was summer when I visited the area, but most people go there in winter to go skiing.

I can see it being ideal for skiing slopes during the winter months.

We were told, that it was popular in the winter here, we did not see many people – but some deserted hotels and a few ski lifts …

To me it is difficult to imagine that one can ski there. I like those slopes which are not too rugged. Maybe it is due to that I am used to see in my country only fjelds, not real mountains, who knows. Very beautiful photo again. Thank You.

Thanks for your comment – I think skiing is more common in Finland than in Australia!

Skiing? In AUSTRALIA? You see, this is why I distrust the Internet.

A high mountain indeed, but somehow I have problems connecting Australia with skiing 🙂

PS Takk for hyggelige kommentaerer! Vi var i NYC i anledning bryllupet til an av våre døtre, så da måtte denne feiringen også tas med. Den er “verdensberømt” i Norge. 🙂

Maybe it’s the only place for skiing in Australia here!?! And yes, skiing is not what people think when they are thinking of Australia.
Enjoy your stay in NY – and congratulations with your daughter! 🙂
