To the left in the bottom of the gorge you can see a glimpse of a channel, part of the Nabataeans watering system. More about this in my next post.

Petra must be one of the wonders of this world – like Machu Picchu or The Great Wall of China.

Going the 1200 meters way into this almost 100 meters deep gorge – in some places only a few meters wide – was one of the great experiences of my life.
Nabataeans had a highly developed and magnificent culture and architecture, which you will find numerous examples of here in Petra.
