Aussie Outback

Please come with me and travel in the Australian outback!

Maybe some of you remember my posts from my travel in Australia in 2011?

Now I will take you into the outback of this great country.

We’ll drive around in in the Red Centre in the middle of Australia. And from Alice Springs we’ll drive along endless highways throughout Northern territory up to Darwin.

Red Centre – hm??!?

The soil here is red, and since it does not usually rain a lot in the summer – the middle of Australia appears usually very red. But this summer, 2011, the weather was highly unusual: For the first time in decades rain fell in large quantities. Red Centre became now – as you can see above – Green Centre!

Artig! Men jeg ville kjørt elektrisk bil her i alle fall – 500km ville gitt enhver det vi kaller “distanseangst” 🙂

Nice shots Truels, sometimes there is not a better feeling then getting in your car and exploring places that are truly ‘off the map’ and the Aussie outback perhaps is the best place to do it (although I’ve yet to!). Cheers and happy trails…

Driving a car is incredibly good, and a luxury we should appreciate, many people before – and now – do not have the opportunity. And not even a fine digital SLR camera …..
