Three Lions Hunting Zebras

January 15, 2013

IMG_8107

Here we see one of the three  lions from my last post (seen from behind) creeping closer to the prey in Serengeti National Park, Tanzania.

It is always the female lions who do the work hunting food!! We were lucky to see this more than once  – please look in my posts from Ngorongoro:

Hunting (with the) hungry lions

Today’s menu: Zebra?

Today’s menu: Wildebeest!

Like last time it is here three female lions hunting zebras, and it is spectacular to follow their strategy  spreading around the prey, then all three are slowly sneaking closer, and when the leading lioness initiates the attack  the others follow her attacking the lion, which she has chosen: Typically a weak animal or a young animal ….

Unfortunately the lions did not had the luck to capture a zebra this time.

Watch my following posts to see, what all the lion children were doing while their mothers were at work …..!

Before Your great series presenting Serengeti, I had no idea how it look and what there happens. Struggle from food continues. Thank You presenting this photo and others also.

Yeah, the lionesses have quite a job to do, catching and preparing all the meals for their families. 😉

Hard work these mothers have. In contrast to the fathers who are just fighting to eat first!

Nej, desværre fangede mødrene ikke noget til dem denne gang!
