Masai Giraffe

Early morning – in Serengeti National Park, Tanzania.
We met one of the most distinctive animals in Africa.
The Masai Giraffe.
Its height can reach more than 6 m….
To pump blood up to these heights do it a gigantic heart weighing up to 12 kg.
A beautiful sight in the morning light.

Later that day we met a young giraffe with one of the parents …
This giraffe had found an even smaller friend 😉

I will say, that the understanding and protection of wildlife in Tanzania has improved a lot. Thanks in part to tourism and all the revenue it gives the country.

Ja, de tre første fotos er meget forskellige i farvetoner, første er taget tidligt om morgenen før solen står op, næste er belyst af morgensolens varme stråler, og tredje er dagslys i overskyet vejr.

The elegant giraffe gliding through the long grass = the perfect photo opportunity. I really love the 2nd shot with the giraffe walking towards the boabab??? tree, an iconic picture of africa. And the baby too cute for words. We had a close encounter with a mum and baby at Makuti Lodge in Etosha and it was amazing.
