Blue Hour – Darwin Harbor
Time and energy has not been available for me to photograph new motives for Scott Thomas’ latest assignment, “Blue Hour”.
But recently I found this photo from March last year.
We were in Darwin, Northern Territory, our final destination after 6 weeks of travel in Australia. The climate here is tropical. This warm and lovely evening we were sitting on the harbor in a large area with numerous fish restaurants. I enjoyed the nice atmosphere and food – and admired the blue sky over the busy and warm illuminated pier.
Not long after that photo was taken heavy winds suddenly blew up and a storm with rain was upon us. Then everything was chaos. The lightweight chairs and tables overturned and chairs, cutlery, napkins etc flew around – and some of all this flew into the water.
All were busy saving themselves and their possessions – and food! – in dry weather below the covered section of the area.
“Blue Hour” can also be a “Dramatic hour”!
Fortunately, the weather this evening soon became peaceful again 🙂
A good photo from a good vacation. It is the best way to remember – for example the dramatic weather.

The atmosphere was great – but without any dancing – except from the wind and raindrops 😉

That’s a really deep blue. Wonder if it has anything to do with latitude? Glad you didn’t get swept away in the short storm.

The storm was not so bad that people got swept away – but I lost my cap…….
