It was a visible and audible (when you drove over them!) delineation of the roadway. For safety, you know. Like our “rumle striber” here in Denmark. The color is red on one side (right) – and white on the opposite side (left – in Australia you drive in this side!).
This is what the roads in South Africa look like – long, straight and disappear over the horizen. This is a great shot to show the expansive landscape and hours one can drive before seeing other signs of life.
How I wish I were on the road again in this fabulous country ! Endless roads to a wide horizon and sky. A wonderful image that really looks very Australian to me.
Jeg er LIDT misundelig på dig – over barnebarnet Amanda! Glæder mig til mine store tøser på 22 og 24 når dertil…
Hvor gamle er dine børn?
Og tak for din kommentar, god aften – og god fredag til dig!
Dear reader!
If any adverts appear on my blog, please know that they were not put there by me, but by Wordpress.com. I do not know and do not support products advertised here without my knowledge!
Please enlighten me…. The red things in the road, are they some sort of lights or? 🙂

Wonderful composition; the road goes on forever! I’m curious about the red object too.

For us from a little country it was overwhelming to drive along these “endless” roads in this giant country….

What a lovely shot ! Don’t know if the red object is there on purpose, as part of your shot, but the eye is certainly drawn to it ….

The purpose is safety (see explanation above) – but I thought it was a nice and funny detail to bring in focus….
