This is my contribution to Scott Thomas’ Assignment “Four seasons”. The photos are captured at Vilhelmsborg Allé east of my hometown, Mårslet.
This is one of my (many!) favorite spots around here.
The first three photos are taken toward the west (where the manor farm buildings and the riding center is), the last in the opposite direction toward the east (where the forest is).

That is a wonderful place for a walk. I can see the appeal year-round, but especially admire the frosted trees on a sunny winter day. I want to grab my mittens and head out.

Those “white” winters, that we also had for a change the last two years, – they are great for photographing. Equipped with lots of clothes 🙂

I want to take a horse drawn sleigh down that winter road. Thanks for participating, Truels! You and Carsten paint such a different view of Europe for me. Never considered how woodsie it is.

If you take that horse drawn sleigh down this road, you can go back and tell that you made as Hans Christian Andersen did many times when he visited the landlord family here! (I told about this in my post “My Hometown History”)
Regarding the forests here – the state and municipalities have in the recent decades done much to increase the forest area in Denmark.
The forest area is now 13% of land area, the goal is to reach 20 to 25% in the next decades.

Truels, you nailed this one! Same object, but yet so different throughout each season. I cannot choose a favourite photo, because all seasons have their thing going on 🙂

How did I miss this gorgeous allée ? I understand why this is one of your favourite places in your area. Any Season brings out the best of it… and your pictures do too, of course ! Brilliant participation, truels. Isn’t it wonderful to see the changes in nature along the year ? Another thought to add to my list of gratefulness 😉 thanks truels.

– – nature – and all its changing wonders will be no. 1 on my list too. I have in all my life used plenty of time in nature whereever I was, and my experiences there have helped me through many problems and crises – and made me happy and amazing experiences alone or with good friends and family for 57 years (almost )…..

Strange and good that you should mention your happy experiences in nature, truels. Last night I read a chapter of one of Eckhart Tolle’s books: “The Art of Calmness”. Just a few words in his chapter about nature :”As you are walking in nature, give it respect in being fully present. Be calm. Look at it. Listen to it. Each animal or vegetal is just “itself”. Contemplating nature can liberate you from your ego, this great trouble maker”. Isn’t it well said ? A great little book I am enjoying thoroughly.
