Esbjerg – and a sculpture by the sea.

December 13, 2011

In my previous post I introduced you to the Danish city Esbjerg in Southwest Jutland. One of the most prominent and impressive landmarks here is the sculpture of four men who are looking westward over the sea. It is located between the harbor and Hjerting – I showed you what they are looking at in my last post!

In the background you can see some of Esbjerg’s port and industrial area.

More information about this great work of art in my following posts…..

The top statues must be some of the tallest points around 😉
But seriously, you have done some very nice things with the light here – a pleasure to see.

Because the landscape is so flat – the statues are even more impressive. It was a lovely afternoon there – and the light was wonderful!

I find the sculpture of these large men very interesting. There is a little “Easter Island” in the way they look out over the ocean.
    Good photo Truels.

Lovely – both being at the concert – and meeting blog friends – and the photo is fine – despite the guy from Jutland with the black leather jacket 😉

Is Denmark the sculpture capitol of the world? You share such interesting pictures with us and so often it has public sculpture. I really like these four men.
