Here are some of my best photos from the past year. And at the same time this is my contribution to Scott Thomas’ latest assignment “Best photos from 2011.” I have not had much energy for this these days (read my last post and you know why), and for the same reason, all photos here have been shown on this blog earlier, please click on the links to read more about the photos.

Ah, what a fantastic selection of images, Truels. The kangaroos-in-the-mist shot looks almost like a painting… I love the three-dimensional effect of the yellow landscape with the clouds above… The duckling reflected perfectly in the calm water makes me feel tranquil… and the colours of the autumn forest are quite extraordinary….

All of Your photos are great, but above all raise in my mind the first photo. It is like a painting.

That first one was a moment I will never forget, and I’m happy that the photos of it have been fine.

You picked a series of good and different photos.
If asked for favourites I’d probably choose the yellow landscape or the young woman at the beach. (Your daughter?)
The way the shape of the clouds mimic the landscape, and the beautiful combination of blue, white and yellow makes your landscape photo rise above ‘the usual’.
The beach photo with the redish light from the setting sun gives associations to the great painters from Skagen.

I appreciate all your fine comments. As I have already mentioned above, it is the first photo that is my own favorite. But another moment I also will remember for a long time, is that evening on the beach in Vejers by the North Sea. The light was fantastic in the cool summer evening. And the girl on the beach, who looks at the sunset, is one of my daughters.

How good of you to have looked through all your great pictures in spite of your lack of energy. Maybe it helped a little remembering special moments ? Time is a healer, they say and I hope you can save some just for you. You have made a beautiful choice, some very painting like, the “Kangaroos”, the “Danish West Coast”. My son is also a soccer player and I love the look of “competition” on these boys’ faces. The lady on the beach and the huge Danish sky (no 2) are probably my favourites. Thank you Truels.

You have written so many nice comments that I appreciate highly, Reggie! Most of the photos are not only choosen as “best photos” but also represents also moments that have made an impression on me – maybe it’s precisely why they were especially good? My son loves soccer, he is the player in black dress. And the lady on the beach – she is my youngest daughter. I am incredibly happy with my new work, which is right beside the Botanical Gardens in Aarhus, and I often go for a walk there, before I go home from work. Yellow landscape is captured around Mårslet, where i live – and where I capture most of my photos while I enjoy the seasons that are changing this landscape constantly.

Like many here have already said, I just love that kangaroo shot! Perhaps it is because it is a sight not many of us get to see! That floating inflatable duck is really cute. Nice collection Truels!
