Kosciuszko National Park
May 19, 2011
In my last post you could see Mt. Kosciuszko, the highest mountain in Australia.
The mountain is situated in Kosciuszko National Park, one of Australia’s many national parks.
Even here species of gum trees – or Eucalyptus – , the most abundant tree species in Australia (more about them in upcoming posts), are common. I was told that gum trees are the only trees in the world with species that are able to grow at all temperature- and climatic zones…

One of the things I loved most in Australia was this vastness, that’s why I also loved beeing in Central Australia. I will try to show this later this year….

It is a famous tree with famous products etc – maybe we should try to grow some of them in Scandinavia?

Eucalypts are probably The icon tree in Australia. I loved their sinuous shapes, light green or silver grey leaves with a touch of pink when they get dry, their scent too and the soft smooth feel of some of their trunks. Love your picture too.

I agree – Eucalyptus as The Icon Tree of Australia is a good description, and I loved this tree and all its different species too!

Yes, I loved the view of that path, we walked down to the stream (see the photo from there in my other post from here) and that was longer than I expected!
