Flowers from Blue Mountains, Australia (1)

April 26, 2011

Last year I posted many of the flowers from my garden.

In 2011 many posts here on my blog will be about about my recent journey.

But now and then some flowers from the journey might appear here…

I do not know the name of this plant. Maybe some of my readers do?

I don’t know what this flower is, but it is most unusual. You must have had a wonderful trip with so many different sights to photograph.

Plants and animals are so different in Australia, which we found very interesting. I look foreward to show more!

Great photo and I am pleased to be able to answer your question, since you have helped me identify plants in the past. It’s a Kangaroo Paw http://www.anbg.gov.au/anigozanthos/index.html and sold in florist’s shops here.

That’s an interesting looking plant and name also, it must be a native plant.

For a moment I thought you had gone below the waves for this one 🙂 It had a surreal effect on me. I hope you will show more flowers from Australia.
