Japanese Maple – in autumn dress

November 5, 2010

One of my young plants in the garden is this Japanese Maple (Japansk løn).

The red palm-shaped leaves are red throughout the season, but now the red color is very beautiful. It is surrounded by shrubs with still green leaves, so I dressed it up with some of the many other autumn colored leaves:

I see it’s red even in June, very beautiful leaves. We have one in our front yard also but it must be a different breed because ours turns green during the summer months. Very beautiful collage.

Thank you, Nye. Yes there are many different kinds of this little tree – also with green leaves.
