Crete – July 2010
I have been lucky to spend 2 weeks in Greece – in Crete – this summer.
We stayed in a place called Agia Marina near Chania, where we rented an apartment in a small hotel near the coast and beach. We also rented a car for some days and went around in the western part of the island.
The landscape in the island is very beautiful. Mountains, small villages, gorges, olive trees, sheep – and beaches:
Here a look down towards Falássarna on the westcoast:
Down the mountain you see some of the millions of olivetrees in Crete, and in the bay are many greenhouses – and a wonderful beach.
This beach is on the south coast near Plákias. The water is clear and nice for a cooling swim.
The beach in Agia Marina was more crowded:
So I preferred to go there in the evening. Here my son takes a look at the beach before sunset:
A star shines brigth from the night sky after sunset:
In the following posts I will show some more glimpses from a very nice holiday in Crete.
And some will be posted in Scott Thomas’ Assignment 8: Travel Photography: I hope some of you readers and fellow-bloggers will join this too (before September 8, 2010).
Oh, how lovely, Truels! Looking forward to what you put together. Thank you for the link back. I hope some your readers take part.

Thanks for the comments! And yes Isa, this is written by my left hand – I really wish I was lefthanded (but I am NOT!) as my right elbow is rather bad with a stubborn infection, so I can not use my right arm ;-( . I hope the doctors soon find an effective treatment….
