Summer landscape around Mårslet / 3

As you might know, we do not have many hills (local name: mountains!) here in Denmark with great views. One hill I like here is Jelshøj (posted earlier – in white!), but last year I passed another hill ( near Pederstrup) with a great view many km’s to Århus Bugt (Bay of Århus). And some days ago I went there again:
I went a little down the hill – and turned round. Then things looked like this!:
Moral: Always look at things from more than one angle!

How true is that! When I am hiking in one direction, I find I usually take photographs towards the front, unless I have been climbing a hill (or a mountain), and I *know* that there should be good views towards the back. I don’t do that nearly often enough, though.

Yes, people tend to fixate on one direction when photographing. I make a point to do this when photographing landscapes like this as the light changes all the time and what’s behind me may turn into something I want in front of me. Like your second image, I find it much more compelling photograph of the “mountain”. 🙂

Another reason for choosing the same way back. You get a completely different view.

Sooooo true! I even do this on a smaller scale. I get so wrapped up in one perspective and then for a goof I’ll snap a different angle and wouldn’t you know it, that ONE snap will turn out to be the best composition. Nice to see you landscape photogs deal with the same thing!

Hello 🙂 Thanks for visiting my blog, I am happy to have found yours. I have looked up which point is the (natural) highest in Denmark and Wikipedia says is Møllehøj (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M%C3%B8lleh%C3%B8j) so I will be visiting there sometime soon!
