Sunshine – and red again…

June 16, 2010

I have passion for plants with red leaves. This one is called Smoke bush or Smoke tree in English. Funny with these plant-names: In Danish this one is called Paryk-busk ( = Wig bush)… Both names are inspired by the flowers that soon will appear: The plumes look like hair – or a smoky haze!

But here is the red beauty without flowers:

    Beautiful contrast.
I like red leaves too. Maybe I should post an image and let you suggest what plant it is I have in my garden.

Ohh, what an eye-catching colour! Beautiful! I particularly like the light shining through the leaves from the back.

With reference to the Soccer – I’m so sorry that Denmark had a rough time against the Netherlands, I saw that you lost by 2 goals. I’m holding thumbs for Denmark’s next match on Saturday evening against Cameroon!

I’m sorry South Africa lost against Uruguay yesterday 😦 – let’s hope the final will be South Africa against Denmark!!

Sadly, we are now out of the tournament, even though we have just beaten France 2-1 — we just didn’t have enough goals to go through to the next round.

Well, our national team is out of the World Cup. But South Africans in general are definitely still very excited and enthusiastic about the rest of the tournament, even if we now have to find other teams to support with our Vuvuzelas!! 😉

I suggest you use the vuvuzelas Thursday evening to support Denmark against Japan! We will need that, the Danish team has not been playing very well in the 2 first matches. Here we have never heard of vuvuzelas before now, but LIDL – a German supermarket company – has sold 20000 of them in just a day or two (my son did not get one!) – and they will all be used Thursday!

        Hello Truels
We are about to head off to my Mom’s to watch the Denmark – Japan match on her telly (we don’t have one), and hubby and Mom have been firmly instructed to cheer for DENMARK!!!!! 😀

Well, when our team does not play well, and the Japanese team plays better, I must say, that we do not deserve to stay in the World Cup: Goodbye Denmark!!! 😦

It’s a fine plant – and the colour is so welcome.
