About

I am a man from Mårslet, a small town outside Århus. Århus is Denmark’s second largest city. I was born in 1954 in a small town in West Jutland, Ribe.
I was educated both as a teacher and as a landscape gardener.

I have three children, two girls, born in 1988 and 1990, and a boy born in 1998.

After a long period having trouble with my right leg ( resulting in being operated 3 times in my hip) I was lucky to return to work in 2011 as a gardener – and even a real dream job for me: In “Den Gamle By” “The danish Old Town Museum” in Århus.

January 30, 2010 I started this blog.
A couple of years before this – my Nikon FE camera gave up… And I decided to go the digital way. My first digital camera was a Panasonic DMC-FZ8.
Giid inspired and encouraged me to my next step: Going the “blog-way”!
After 1½ years and more than 150 posts – and a lot of nice experiences with my blog and many new blog-friends I was lucky to be able to buy a DSLR camera, a Canon EOS 60D with a 18-135 mm lens.

And why did I decide to make this blog?:

I made this blog to  show  some impressions from my life in Denmark. And my travels around the world.

My language is Danish – but I chose to use English for my blog – to reach world with my pictures. And to get in touch with photo bloggers worldwide – to learn and to share experiences, ideas and inspiration with people in other countries.

I love to travel – and have always had this as my great interest and passion. And through my blog and other bloggers from around the world I travel now – every day!

The purpose of this blog is to tell YOU about one  of my great passions – photography!

The following photos are a little selection of the photos I captured from my region in 2008 and 2009.

They were the first photos published on my blog January 30, 2010. So they – and the comments to them – continues to be here:

    Hello Truels

You’re an excellent photographer – such beautiful images! I also dream of buying a SLR digital camera, but that’ll take quite some saving up, and I still have much to learn about photography.

I look forward to reading and learning more about your hometown, and about Denmark in general.

Ok, you do not need a new camera to take better pictures, you have awesome talent and these photos are great. Your post mentions you were out of work in January, have you found something since?
I especially love your fallen tree in the water and ice. These all speak to me. Nice work.

    Hej Truels
