Some of the many African elephants in Lake Manyara National Park, Tanzania.
The last one walks away, saying:
“Follow me – and come back soon to watch more of me and my many animal-friends and the landscapes of Tanzania!”

Whoa! These are awesome! This must have been an incredible trip. Looking forward to seeing more
My 5-days safari in Tanzania was an unforgettable experience – magnificent scenery, lovely people, lots of animals – and dust! – and cool nights, sleeping in small tents in between the animals
Wow these are brilliant, Truels! You are so lucky to get to see them in the wild
amazing. Love the shots!
I felt lucky to be able to do a trip like this, yes!
Wow, awesome! I love elephants…
Elephants were my favorite of all the many animals we saw down there
What a thrill for you to get so close to these marvellous creatures !
It was. I had a great experience!
What an amazing sight. I love the first photo with the elephant having a sandbath. We had a similar experience of being so close to a herd in Pilanseberg South Africa, it is just awesome to be so close to them in their natural habitat. Looking forward to all your photos from this trip.
I have been enjoying all your great photos of animals from South Africa, Frances! In fact I was thinking of you sometimes during the safari
How lovely Truels. What a wonderful experience to be up close and personal with these beautiful creatures.
I was so surprised by the overwhelming difference there is between seeing these animals in the zoo – and in their element in nature!
They look so kind. Your photos are terrific.
These are amazing animals – I took many photos of them – and fortunately there are good shots among them!
LOVE elephants! How close were you able to (safely) get?
They are completely familiar with cars and people: They have many years of experiences that they are not enemies! Therefore all the wild animals came right up to the cars, and as long we stayed inside the car and did not touch them, nothing happens. Even lions we could have touched – but WE DID NOT! (more on them later!)
Herlige elefantbilder. Tanzania er flott, – himmelsk å oppleve gjennom kameralinsa!
Superbly captured images of these majestic animals!!
Thanks – they helped me a lot! Very friendly animals
Dejligt arbejde!
Wow…did you mention a trip to Africa? I will be back to look and comment on all your posts as soon as I can. Another Wow on how close you were able to get to these huge animals. Nice light and photos, too.
Yes, I was 16 days in Tanzania this summer – including a 5 days safari in the 3 greatest National parks. I was SO close to these animals, I could have touched them – though this is not a good idea! Being so close to the animals in their natural environment was a great experience.
Truels, sounds like an exciting trip and I do love your elephants photos.
It was indeed, and I’m glad you like “my” elephants
