The texture of the wall against the colours of the water – lovely! Very nice.

You must have had some fun making this one! At least I had watching it. A real treat.

It was the reflections in the water that caught my attention. And I thought the pier edge was a nice contrast to the water.

Neat! I’m struggling to call this an abstract though…perhaps if you cropped off the ladder and left just the reflection. But, nonetheless, a really nice shot, Truels!

I understand your point about “abstract”. I saw Giiid’s contribution today, which she has called “almost abstract”! ( http://my2008blog.wordpress.com/2012/03/12/abstract/ ). This might be the right description of my post… There are probably many understandings and definitions of the term …. Scott’s is: “Abstract photography communicates primarily through form, color, and curves rather than image detail”. The word “primarily” leaves a door open for details and elements – like a ladder!?

Very nice photograph, Truels – the reflection is excellent and I agree with you that the pier provides contrast and, I think, balance. This element in my view makes an otherwise very good image into an extraordinary one.

Interesting image truels, I’ve never taken an abstract image before and this would be a challenge.

Patterns, shadows and light on water always make interesting compositions. I love this one.
