Record cold Danish winter

This weekend, we had record low temperatures here in Denmark.
Minus 23 degrees Celsius, the lowest temperature measured here for 26 years ….
The three pictures here show the Danish landscape – at Nordsminde Fjord. I was lucky to have the sun play with the light over the fjord, while I with frozen fingers captured the three photos of the view over the ice on the frozen fjord. Captured from my favorite place by the road along the fjord. In the last photo you can see the Bay of Århus with Samsø, – Tunø – and the offshore wind turbines.

Oh dear! Too cold – at least for photographing, I have lost one camera in those conditions, we can get fingers warm but the camera may stop totally 🙂

And i have tried this several times – writing wrong (=too fast!!!) in my comments to other blogs – and can’t correct it. That’s why I try to correct spelling in the comments here, when I read misspellings.

What a very strange winter all round Truels. Some very unseasonably mild temperatures in the U.S. and terrible cold in Europe. Hope it warms up soon.

Ooooh, stay warm Truels! At least you have the pretty snow along with your cold temps – I miss the snow though I shouldn’t complain too much since we’ve had some mild days. Just a crazy season for all of us!

The snow is white and beautiful – the problem is that it freezes horribly on the fingers when you want to capture the beauty…

I heard it was cold in Europe these days but did not realize it was that cold! Watch out for frost bite on your hands and condensation on your camera.
I would not have needed to know how cold….your photos tell the story, chillingly.

Ja, Jan Utzon stod for renoveringen af Operahuset – og Jørn Utzon deltog også – men døde desværre 90 år gammel senere dette år. I øvrigt er begge hans sønner, Jan og Kim, kendte arkitekter…

Hej truels, jeg kommer fra Tyskland og bor i Hamborg. Jeg har lærte lidt dansk fordi jeg elsker min ferie i Danmark! 🙂 Men jeg mangler øvelse at tale dansk!
And of course I know your national anthem. Actually, we have sung it one or two times in our danish lessons. The lyrics are just beautiful. 🙂

The first image for me : Foot print of a group , they are singing and dancing ( maybe they are drunk for the curves in the way or I don’t know zig – zag 🙂 ) any way they are going to reach the free horizon . The way is clear .
I love this image more than all of them .

Oh, my friend – I loved your imagination about the curves and tracks in the snow on the ground. And I sit with closed eyes and imagine this bunch of zig-zagging people moving down towards the fjord surrounded by large clouds of their warm breath in the hard frost…… Maybe I should go with them? 😉

Truels, the images tell the story. It has been unseasonable warm for us this time of the year but I’m not complaining.

I do what most of the population in our country do: Talk a lot about the weather! Why? I think because the Danish weather changes SO much during the year – and the years 🙂

Spectacular photography Truels! We’ve had temperatures down to about -7 in south-west England and we think that’s pretty cold! I don’t think I can comprehend the temperatures you have.
